Kennel Inspection
The AKC does random kennel inspections or if a complaint is made. We think this is a wonderful thing and it helps to weed out the puppy mills. They look for cleanliness and safety of the facility, if the dogs are in good condition and well kept, if the dogs are indentified by a collar tag/microchip/DNA, have clean water, have a proper place to exercise, will take DNA samples, and check the breeders record keeping to be sure they are up to date and done properly. Some people think these inspections are a sign of something wrong, as they can be, but we want everyone to know that is not always the case. They will do random inspections if you have at least, 4 litters a year. Learn more by clicking on the AKC link shown below:

Our first inspection was February 22, 2007.The second kennel inspection was January 18, 2010. We passed both without a hitch. But we're proud to announce during the inspection done January 18th, we were given the AKC KENNEL INSPECTION GOLD CERTIFICATE ! We didn't know about it and were very surprised! The AKC representative, Mr. Robert James, told us very few are given out and only to those kennel owners who operate above and beyond the required rules of the AKC.
We learned less
than 10% of all
the breeders for
every breed are
issued one! We're very proud to have been considered being more than just in compliance! You can't really tell, but the AKC seal at the bottom is in gold. See it below:
